The Journey

Our Beginning

This project started as a memorial for our late mother, who passed away in 2015; she was a midwife to the local villager's ladies. She was a go-to mom who helped pregnant women and the entire community for those in need. I was blessed to come to America at a young age, which allowed me to become an entrepreneur. I sent my sister to nursing school in Liberia with God's blessing. In March of 2022, using the communication resources phone/zoom to communicate with my sister in Africa, we were able to continue our mother's legacy. We planned to build a three (3) shed that would provide safer and cleaner conditions to the struggling interior of (Nimba County) West Africa, serving the community.

We accessed our skills, strengths, gifts, and ways that we could contribute to the project by using the following passages:

Matthews 25:14-30

A talent represents our abilities, time, resources, and opportunities to serve God and others. God has entrusted all of these things to us, and he expects us to use and apply these gifts in the wisest possible way so that Christ can see a return on this investment.

The Lord moved the hearts of the people in Nimba County to contribute to the health center's construction by offering their labor at little cost, (men and women), their food, and what little they could share. They prayed and thanked God that this would finally happen for them. Our support of finances and prayers came from our America team, our church leaders, and some members of the congregation, who also prayed for and over us and donated financially and spiritually. There were also some family, friends, and those we encountered who heard our story and gave freely. Thank you all.

We are members of a missionary church that promotes and supports missions worldwide, and our exposure to perspectives reaffirmed God's mission. It was easy for us to give our time, sweat equity, and finances. It should come as no surprise that what we sometimes think is our idea, truly is the work of Jesus Christ. With the faith of a muster seed, God grew a small clinic, "Thought," into a 14-room Health Center, a separate maternity care building with four delivery rooms, two rooms for mom/baby care, and a 250-capacity conference center for community gathering and training. Praise God. He is not done yet; all good things work for the glory of God, and as we move forward to honor our late mother, we lift the Father and Son Jesus Christ, who provides everything that is needed. He took a little and made it a lot.

•  Transformation: Titus 3:5-8 (NIV) “he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.”

TMSMHC Impact 2027 Updates: 12/21/23

• We are blessed to bring good news from Nimba County about how God blesses his people through your prayers, encouragement, and financial support. We thank you!

• We were able to secure eight lots, which equal about 3 acres of land, and the community people are brushing the land. Welcome to the jungle.

• The second well digging is also at completion; we have to install the hand pump.

• We got the news that the children are not in school due to the government spending keeping their school tuition because of the recent election, and now they cannot pay the teachers to teach the children. The children will go to school and play in the schoolyard all day, then come home because there are no teachers to teach them. This is very sad. I cried and mourned for a few days. I trust in our God that he will make a way.

• The community's people in the 12 towns are coming together to make bricks with their hands, hauling sand and lumber to help get a new school for their children. Their response moved me because I remember when we first got there to build the health center; we got some resistance from some community members. I asked some of the chiefs, and they said because God has blessed them with a place where they and their family can go and get health care and learn more about him from the training center, there is no reason that they cannot embrace the blessings that God is showing them.

• We got the blueprint for the school project; please help us pray that God will provide the necessary materials, laborers, and favors to construct the school for the children. We are working on putting a virtual store on the website so people can go and shop/donate. This is something new that we are trying.

• We got some help editing our first newsletter; we hope to get it out to everyone by the end of January 2024.

• We have seven new healthy babies born for December – Praise the LORD!

• We got approval to translate the book “Fight the Good Fight of Faith” into the Gio/Dan language for the community and also for the inner-city as this is the more dominant language that is spoken in Nimba County, District 7 and also in Monrovia the capital city of Liberia. This book will help them understand God’s plan for their lives more in-depth and be able to read God’s word in their native tongue to their family at home.

• The Joseph Strategy gathering food for drought season has started, we have three barrels of rice so far, praise the Lord.

• The new Evangelism training classes has started; we have 28 student, men women and children attending.

• For the past two Sundays, we had praise and worship at the training center and about 75 people attended and 13 people received Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who trust in the LORD will become strong again.
They will be like eagles that grow new feathers. They will run and not get weak. They will walk and not get tired.”
